Tim Tackett demonstrating trapping hands. Trapping Hands Comes From the Art of Wing Chun. First is the outside reference point. A reference point is when you throw a punch and you get a block of some sort. This would be called a reference point. So if the your point is on the outside of his block and his block is on the inside. This is what is called an outside reference point. So if this is the case, you would use the swinging gate drill, Which bruce lee modified. This use the hing of the elbow. The next would be a inside reference point. This is if the opponent blocks from the inside you would use the ball socket drill. You would roll your sholder if in this situation. Remember, Sensitiviy is however the opponent reacts to you. So every technique will not work in every situation. You have to pick the right technique for whatever attack you are being hit with. This is sometimes the most difficult concept for a martial artist to comprehend. A technique can become a disease if you are confined by the technique. Remember in jeet kune do, Use no way as the way and have no limitation as a limitation. If you are confined to a technique, you have created a limitation or trapped yourself.
