Mich. teen competent to stand trial in crime spree
Associated Press - October 19, 2009 4:34 PM ET

ROSEVILLE, Mich. (AP) - A Flint teen accused in the killing of a 21-year-old man and other crimes has been found competent to stand trial in Macomb County.

The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press say 17-year-old Ihab Maslamani underwent a psychiatric examination last month.

Maslamani is accused in three criminal cases, including the Aug. 9 abduction outside an Eastpointe sub shop of Matt Landry of Chesterfield Township. Landry's body was found four days later in a burned-out house in Detroit.

Maslamani faces hearings to decide if he should stand trial in the cases. They're Oct. 28 in Clinton Township, Nov. 9 in Roseville and Nov. 12 in Eastpointe.

Defense lawyer Joseph Kosmala says Maslamani has "had a very hard life."

My opinion this piece of garbage should be hanged. Why waste all the taxpayers money for a heinous crime like this. Put this on Pay Per View. The money should be given to Family of Matthew Landry. Why give all these criminals all these rights. For one thing you violated the civil rights of Matthew Landry, Kidnapping and Murder. Number Two, He is mentaly compent to stand trial. The two suspects rode up on Bicycles and decided to rob the nearest victim at Quissnos which is on 10 Mile and Gratiot in Eastpointe, Michigan. The beat Matthew Landry in back of the Sub Shop while the police came to late as usual. Two witness spotted this and called police but I guess didn't take matters in their own hands. If they did this might or might not have happened.

What would you do in this situations. Would you take matters in your own hands or would you have called police.  Let me know your opinion, I am all open ears.

As a final note, if the justice would be unleased on criminals like this, maybe, just maybe this heinous act will not be tolerated in a polite society.
